Your Mental Health and Why Breathing Matters

  • Image Alt Text: Blog Cover

Join us as we unravel the stress caused by disordered breathing with low CO2. Discover how your mental well-being is hijacked by stress created by your physiology.

  • Healthy thinking depends greatly on your physiology which is primarily regulated by CO2 balance.
  • The way you breathe affects your brain chemistry, and it can inadvertently create disturbed thoughts and emotions.
  • Very little is known about the effect of low CO2 on mental health.

CO2 Depletion Disrupts Your Emotional State

Your body requires a balance in carbon dioxide to function with ease. The normal CO2 range is 35-45 mmHg range. This is an irrefutable scientific fact and perhaps the most neglected area in mental health, medicine, and rehabilitation for more than 150 years. CO2 depletion caused by breathing behaviors disrupts your nervous system, impairs your thinking, and decreases your energy.

CO2 depletion has great potential to disrupt your cognitive and emotional performance via

  • Accumulation of neurotoxins
  • Improper excretion of metabolic waste products in the brain
  • Increased lactate (acidity) in the brain

An ongoing heightened central nervous system hijacked by a state of hypervigilance or survival will create the perfect storm that will yield thought patterns that are destructive and negative. These patterns can perpetuate and exacerbate with more stress, creating true pathological conditions as mental health disorders.  Your sense of ease, motivation, and confidence can be negatively affected by the way you breath. CO2 depletion can cause the following states:

  • Disorganized thinking
  • Confusion
  • Anxiety
  • Worry
  • Catastrophic thinking
  • Disorientation
  • Feelings of unreality
  • Panic
  • Depression
  • Phobias
  • Hallucinations
  • Inappropriate pseudo calmness (alcohol, sugar, drugs, cravings)

A state of survival is not capable to generate healthy creative ideas that lead to healthy actions. The altered physiology will increased the probability of engaging in bad habits. In short, a disturbed physiology can manipulate how you think, feel, and act.

CO2 Depletion Alters Oxygen and Blood Flow

Imagine a brain lacking oxygen, blood supply, and glucose. A brain that has a compromised excretion system is unable to get rid of toxic waste product like Beta-amyloid, a toxic protein implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s disease.

If the brain is not thriving, it is decaying. The brain is not regenerating, and it is certainly not positioned to produce a healthy imagination. The brain is clogged up and in a state of shock and survival.

Unfounded Fear, Why?

The creative process of negative imagination works as effectively as the deliberate intent to create inner peace, inspiration, creativity, and gratitude. The memories, laughter, and enjoyment of what you love most can be greatly influenced by body chemistry, which is influenced directly by your physiology, namely CO2 balance.

Is Your Physiology Being Hacked?

Low CO2 creates physiological chaos, generating unfounded anxiety, worry, fear, negativity, cynicism, and multidimensional self-perpetuating conflict with unlimited potential for destruction. In more severe cases, improper breathing can cause suicidal ideation, hallucinations, and schizophrenic reactions. Often, this issue is very subtle and cannot be easily recognized.  Thoughts are being hacked and hijacked by altered chemistry in the body, mediated by unstable desynchronized breathing leading to low CO2, causing ongoing physiological stress that increases the chances for negative thinking, unhealthy habits, illness, and disease.

The body is not meant to sustain a state of survival. Said state is elusive because most people cannot distinguish the level of stress they are in regardless of age, work demands, retirement, economic situation, and more.

Proper breathing with oxygen-cO2 balance

On the contrary, a healthy brain will thrive, creating inspiration and loving thoughts as needs are met. The CO2 balance will give you the following benefits:

  • Opens blood vessels
  • Increases blood flow
  • Facilitates the proper use of oxygen
  • Decreases inflammation

CO2 Balance Supports Your Mental Stability

Healthy breathing chemistry is about having the CO2 to be stable and adaptive regardless of what is happening to you. The way you breathe can give you the ability to stay calm, and create a sense of ease for healing, recovery, and performance.  CO2 balance can give you the following benefits:

  • Adaptive
  • Easygoing
  • Loving
  • Calm
  • Supportive
  • Warmhearted
  • Enthusiastic
  • Adventurous
  • Sociable
  • Courageous

Healthy physiology via CO2 balance supports healthy imagination and a cheerful personality. Let it magnetize opportunities to come to you. Your imagination will create new realities if you use your abilities to create change. You get to create a new story with your own design.

Stabilizing Your Physiology

CO2 balance target 40mmHg is the true measure of good breathing. It is the most important gateway of health creation and health freedom. Health education using progressive technology to measure physiology is a good step to help correct the root cause of complex health issues. Don’t just treat the symptoms.

Conclusion

  • Breathing brings new opportunities for healing and to expand the mind to explore our true nature in inspiration and creativity with new ideas for today and the future.
  • CO2 depletion has a great impact to alter the way we think and feel. Low CO2 affects the brain chemistry in profound ways and it can hijack our mental and emotional performance.
  • Your creative imagination, by design, will have a great impact in your health.

Final thoughts

Your thoughts can create, why not create your thoughts the way you want them? Imagine tapping into your physiology  to help you harness your vivid creativity full of hope and inspiration? Cherish your creative imagination and endeavor to improve.

CO2regulation is the process of restoring healthy carbon dioxide levels in your body through targeted breathing techniques. When CO2 is too low due to chronic over-breathing, your nervous system goes into fight-or-flight mode, triggering anxiety symptoms. By restoring CO2 balance, you calm your nervous system, improve oxygen delivery, and end anxiety at the root—without medication.

For many people, yes. While medications numb symptoms, they don’t fix the underlying cause of anxiety—physiological imbalance. Breathing therapy corrects this imbalance by retraining your body’s chemistry and nervous system, helping you achieve lasting calm without dependency or side effects.

Most clients notice improvements in calmness, focus, and energy within a few weeks of starting a structured CO₂ regulation program. Long-term benefits—such as resilience, better sleep, and freedom from anxiety.

Traditional treatments like talk therapy and medication often overlook the physiological triggers behind anxiety. If your nervous system is firing false alarms due to low CO2 no amount of cognitive work can fully calm it. Breathing therapy addresses the root cause, creating a foundation where other therapies can finally work.

Yes. CO2 regulation uses gentle, science-based breathing techniques that work with your body’s natural systems. There are no drugs, no side effects, and no invasive procedures.
